I just received a reply to my mail about fences. There appears to be a lot of bureaucracy involved because several stakeholders are involved. The 'recreatieschap' does indeed operate the road, but the landowner also has quite a lot of influence. So the municipality of Rhenen has been asked for permission as well as the board of the Recreatieschap. They also told me that the fences are meant against cars.

Everytime I cycle allong the Valleikanaal I get annoyed by the fences which are, as far is I an guess, meant to prevent mopeds to use the path. Scooters can get passed very easily, but I always get stuck with my recumbent bike. So today I decided to call the road operator. But who is the road operator? First i tried the 'Waterschap' because the path runs allong the Valleikanaal which is taken care of by the waterschap. They referred me to the municipality of Rhenen. They in turn told me that the 'Recreatieschap' is road opperator.

Today i have been on a fieldtrip with the NJN to fit some geese with rings. This is done to be able to recognize them from a distancte to monitor where they are. Today we handled about 75 young geese and about 35 adult geese.

Because i didn't like Nucleus anymore i moved my old site (completely in Dutch) to oud.martenjn.nl. Here i will keep a site in Drupal.

I want to do more with the site, mostly putting links to sets and images on my flickr. Also the newest images will be displayed automaticaly on the frontpage.
